Basketball: Mufi Jamboree Saturday

Advertiser Staff

Twenty-four teams, featuring some of the top female basketball players in the state, are scheduled to compete Saturday in the 15th annual Mufi Hannemann Basketball Jamboree at Manoa Gym.

Games in three divisions — 12 and under, 14 and under and high school/college alumnae — begin at 9 a.m. and continue all day.

Participants include high school players as well as many women who have played at the college level.

Admission for the single-elimination tournament is free. Donations are welcome, with proceeds going to the Hawai'i High School Athletic Association.

Hannemann, the Honolulu mayor, established the jamboree in 1994 to showcase Hawai'i female basketball players.
