Surf of 8 to 12 feet expected on northern shores today

Advertiser Staff

Surf along north-facing shores is expected to be the largest of the day on O'ahu with wave faces of 8 to 12 feet, the National Weather Service said.

Elsewhere, expect surf of 4 to 8 feet along west-facing shores, and 1 to 2 feet along east- and south-facing shores.

A much larger northwest swell, possibly near warning levels, is expected to roll in on Monday, peak on Tuesday, then lower on Wednesday.

In addition, an out of season south swell will build late Saturday, possibly reach advisory levels Sunday and Monday, and slowly lower through Tuesday.
