BayFest 2008 set for July 4-6

Advertiser Staff

BayFest 2008, the summer bash by Marine Corps Base Hawaii and Marine Corps Community Services, will be held July 4-6 this year in Kane'ohe.

The event is in its 19th year and has become a tradition for the Fourth of July holiday.

Last year, 30,000 attended. A roster of talent for this year's festival has not yet been announced, but previous performers like America, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Collective Soul, Joan Jett, Lynyrd Skynyard and .38 Special have provided a range of music.

A variety of activities are also on tap: a bathtub regatta, boat rides to and from Coconut Island, a fitness competition, a lifestyle expo and trade show, and military displays.

BayFest 2008 is an annual event organized by Marine Corps Community Services and is open to the civilian and military communities. Proceeds support the quality of life for the Marines, Sailors and their family members stationed in Hawai'i.
