KAPOLEI
Two Kamokila signals begin working today

Advertiser Staff

Traffic signals at two key intersections of Kamokila Boulevard in Kapolei will be activated at 1:30 p.m. today.

Kamokila is the main thoroughfare through downtown Kapolei, O'ahu's designated Second City.

The signals are at the intersections with Manawai Street, near Campbell Square, the Kapolei police station and Kapolei Regional Park, and Ulu'ohia'a Street, near the State Office Building and K-mart.

The two signals have been long called for by both motorists and pedestrians in the heavily trafficked area.

Kapolei Property Development Co., the master developer for Kapolei, installed the two sets of traffic signals for approximately $500,000.

Mayor Mufi Hannemann will preside over the activation today.
