Kamehameha Schools hoolaulea ends at 4 p.m. today

HONOLULU — The Kamehameha Schools Association of Teachers and Parents presents its 78th Annual Ho'olaule'a from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Kamehameha High School Konia field and Ka'ahumanu parking lot.

Ho'olaule'a 2008 will have food and entertainment throughout the day by Pilioha, LT Smooth, Kaukahi, Kalapana, Maunalua, Thick Tubes, and the Kamehameha Schools Marching Band, Concert Glee, Hawaiian Ensemble, Children's Choir and Dance Company, organizers said.

There will be Xtreme Inflatables, a dunking booth, games, rides, activities and Teen Sound Stage while shoppers stock up on apparel items and specialties from Kaua'i, Maui and Hawai'i Island, the Country Store, Silent Auction, Garden Shop, and Haku Lei booths. Kamehameha brownies will be available ready-to-eat or in a package mix to bake at home.

Other food includes Healthy Haven treats, fried noodles, yakitori sticks, watercress stew bowl, Korean plate and Hawaiian plate topped off with malasadas or a trip to the Sweet Shoppe.

Admission and parking are free, available at Kapalama Elementary, Damien Memorial and designated on-campus locations. A free shuttle service will run continuously throughout the campus, Damien Memorial, and the Kamehameha Schools Terminal.
