Swords edge host Seasiders

Stewart Kussler had 18 points and 11 rebounds, leading the Chaminade Silverswords to a 67-65 victory over the Brigham Young-Hawai'i Seasiders last night in a Pacific West Conference game before a crowd of 1,232 at Cannon Activities Center in La'ie.

Marko Kolaric and Rodrick Johnson each added 16 points for Chaminade, which improved to 19-6 overall and 14-2 in conference.

Lucas Alves scored 20 points, Jermaine Odjegba added 11 and Nathan Sims 10 for BYUH, which fell to 16-7 and 11-5.

Dixie State 82, HAWAI'I PACIFIC 73: Landon Clegg scored 19 points and Kasey Winters added 16 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Rebels (8-8, 11-14) over the Sea Warriors (5-12, 8-18) at Kaiser High gym.

Jason Curtis and Rishi Kakad each scored 19 points, Ryan Walker had 11 and Justonn Smith 10 to lead Hawai'i Pacific.

PACWEST WOMEN

BYU-HAWAI'I 78, CHAMINADE 72: Lei Lolohea scored 26 points, Agnes Tuilevuka added 17 and the host Seasiders (5-20, 5-11) made a 38-31 halftime lead stand up in beating the Silverswords (0-23, 0-16) at Cannon Activities Center in La'ie.

Katherine Carlisle scored 20 points, Samantha Saito had 16 and Simrin Cummins 14 for BYUH.

Dixie State 65, Hawai'i Pacific 58: Lindsey Chettinger and Jessica Carver each scored 17 points, and Carver added 13 rebounds to lead the Rebels over the Sea Warriors at Kaiser High gym.

Ashley Jenkins and Karras Blatte led the Sea Warriors with 12 points each.
