Lane closures scheduled across Oahu

The State Department of Transportation has released a list of lane closures across Oahu for this week. All projects are weather-permitting.

Waikele to Waipahu (NIGHT WORK)

Multiple lane closures in the eastbound direction of the H-1 from the Waikele/Waipahu off-ramp (Exit 7 (East)) to the Kamehameha Highway off-ramp (Exit 8C (East)) from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., nightly, for pavement resurfacing work at the following locations and times:

  • Two leftmost lanes will be closed on Monday night, through Thursday morning.

  • Two rightmost lanes will be closed on Thursday night through Friday morning. During this closure, the eastbound Paiwa Street on-ramp will also be closed. Eastbound motorists are advised to use alternate freeway entrances from Fort Weaver Road, Kamehameha Highway or Farrington Highway.

    Kunia to Kapolei

    Single lane closures on the H-1 in the eastbound direction between the Makakilo and Kunia Interchanges through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for lane striping.

    FARRRINGTON HIGHWAY

    1) Waianae to Makaha

    Single lane closures in both directions between Haleakala Avenue and Lawaia Street through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for various contractor permit projects including electrical pole replacements and installations of watermains, communications lines and manholes.

    2) Waialua

    Single lane closures in both directions from Kaena Point to Kaukonahua Road for lane striping and marker installations through Friday, 8:30 am. to 3 p.m., for various contractor permit projects including watermain and manhole installations.

    Kahekili Highway: Kulukeoe Street to Haiku Road

    Lane closures on between Kulukeoe Street and Haiku Road in both directions through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for the removal of concrete median barriers and water line adjustments.

    Kalanianaole Highway

    1) Near Castle Junction

    Right-lane closure in the Kailua-bound direction between Castle Junction and Kapaa Quarry Road, through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for erosion control work.

    2) Near Keolu Drive

    Right lane closure in the Waimanalo-bound direction near the Keolu Drive intersection through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for drainage improvements, excavations.

    Kamehameha Highway

    1) Pearl City To Aiea

    Rolling lane closures in both directions between Kuala Street in Pearl City to Honomanu Street/McGrew Loop in Aiea through Friday, 2/29, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., daily, for pothole patching.

    2) Near Pearl Harbor

    Single lane closures in both directions from McGrew Loop to Center Drive through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., daily, for lane striping and pavement marker installations.

    3) From Mililani To Wheeler AAF

    Southbound traffic will be contraflowed using the northbound lanes between Lehua Road and Waikalani Drive through Friday from 8:30 a.m. through 3 p.m., daily.

    24-hour lane closures will also be in effect, seven-days-a-week at the following locations:

  • Right lane closure in the northbound direction between Lehua Road and Kahelu Avenue.

  • Left and right lane closures in the southbound direction between Santos Dumont Avenue and Waihau Street.

    Portable concrete barriers will close these lane segments for shoulder widening and curb construction.

    Likelike Highway

    1) Kalihi Area

    Single lane closures on Likelike Highway through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 pm., daily, at the following locations:

  • Left lane closure in the Honolulu-bound direction over the Kalihi Stream Bridge between Kono Street and Gulick Avenue.

  • Right lane closure in the Kaneohe-bound direction near Valley View Drive for roadside tree-trimming.

    Ala Moana Boulevard

    1) Resurfacing Project (NIGHT WORK)

    Multiple lane closures in both directions from Fort Street to Piikoi Street through Friday morning, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly, for sawcutting and trenching work for the installation of street light and traffic signal conduits.

    Fort Weaver Road

    1) Widening Project, Phase II

    Single lane closures in the northbound direction from Aawa Drive to the Honouliuli Stream Bridge through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., daily, for construction of roadside drainage systems.

    Right shoulder lanes from Laulaunui Street to Old Fort Weaver Road are closed in both directions 24/7 to isolate work areas from traffic.

    Puuloa Road

    1) Improvements Project

    This improvements project will create a wider, divided two-lane roadway with dedicated turn and merge lanes, increasing safety and traffic flow through the Mapunapuna area. Roadwork is scheduled through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, at the following locations:

  • Shoulder lanes in both directions closed. Roadside parking is not permitted.

  • Lane modification in effect on Mokumoa Street between Puuloa Road and Mapunapuna Street for drainage improvements. One lane of travel in each direction will be allowed for cars and small vehicles. Large vehicles will not be allowed through this area.
