Kauai officials offer help to 1st-time homebuyers

Kaua'i residents looking to purchase their first homes in the next few years can sign up for free homebuyer orientation classes.

The classes will provide an introduction to home ownership, assessment of homebuyer readiness and a description of the home-buying process. The classes are offered monthly by the Hawai'i Home Ownership Center and Hawaiian Community Assets.

Classes are 6 to 7 p.m. on the following dates:

March 7: Lihu'e Civic Center, Pi'ikoi conference room, HHOC

April 7, Kaua'i Community College elections room, HCA

April 11, Lihu'e Civic Center, Pi'ikoi conference room, HHOC

April 25, Lihu'e Civic Center, Pi'ikoi conference room, HHOC

May 9, Lihu'e Civic Center, Pi'ikoi conference room, HHOC

May 30, Lihu'e Civic Center, Pi'ikoi conference room, HHOC

June 13, Lihu'e Civic Center, Pi'ikoi conference room, HHOC.

June 27, Lihu'e Civic Center, Pi'ikoi conference room, HHOC
