Oahu's north shore under high-surf advisory

Advertiser Staff

A high-surf advisory is in effect for north-facing shores on O'ahu, with waves expected to reach heights of 10 feet to 15 feet through today.

Surf along west-facing shores will rise to heights of 8 feet to 10 feet.

Surf along south-facing shores will decrease to heights of 2 feet to 4 feet.

Surf along east-facing shores will remain 1 foot to 3 feet.

The declining south swell will be gone by tomorrow. The moderately large west-northwest swell arriving today will gradually diminish through tomorrow morning, rise back up a bit tomorrow afternoon, then slowly subside through the weekend.

A moderate northwest swell arriving Sunday night will approach the advisory level on Tuesday.
