Road closures planned in Kahala for Sunday's 10K

The 31st Annual Straub/Kapiolani Women's 10K Race, scheduled for this weekend, will result in several road closures starting at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday.

The 6.2-mile race begins at Kapi'olani Park at 7 a.m. on Sunday and goes around Diamond Head before returning to the park.

From 4:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., the following will be closed:

  • The mauka lanes of Kalakaua Avenue adjacent to Kapi'olani Park. Kahala-bound traffic will be allowed to use the makai lanes.

  • The makai side of Diamond Head Road from Paki Avenue to 22nd Avenue. Town-bound traffic will be allowed on the mauka side.

  • Both sides of Paikau Street.

  • The Koko Head side of 22nd Avenue from Diamond Head to Kilauea Avenue.

  • The makai curb lane from 22nd Avenue to Elepaio Street.

  • The 'ewa side curb lane of Elepaio Street from Kilauea Avenue to Kahala Avenue.

  • Both sides of Kahala Avenue from Elepaio Street to Diamond Head Road. Town-bound traffic will be diverted right at Elepaio Street, except city buses.
