First Children's Choral Fest set for this weekend

Advertiser Staff

More than 700 students are expected to perform at the Royal Hawaiian Band's first Children's Choral Festival at the Pearl City Cultural Center on Saturday and Sunday.

The event will feature 11 children's choirs from O'ahu public elementary, middle and high schools, as well as the Hawaii Youth Opera Chorus and the Kamehameha Schools Children's Chorus.

The event is free and open to the public, although tickets will be required for admission to the auditorium and will be distributed to each participating choir. Those without tickets may occupy an overflow viewing area in the school cafeteria. Parking is available at the Pearl City Cultural Center, Pearl City High School and along Waimano Home Road.
