Construction work to replace a large sewer line will disrupt traffic at the intersection at Ka'ahumanu Avenue and Kahului Beach Road starting today, according to the county Wastewater Division.

For Wailuku-bound vehicles on Ka'ahumanu, the right-turn lane fronting the Maui Beach Hotel will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Motorists will be able to turn right onto Kahului Beach Road via the main intersection.

The temporary detour is expected to be in effect for two to three days.
