Hearings to be held on changes to driver's licensing exams

The state Department of Transportation will hold a series of public hearing next week regarding language changes to the rules related to driver license exams.

The public hearings will be held on the following dates:

Kauai -- March 3 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Kauai Highway District Office (HWYS) at 1720 Haleukana Street in Lihue.

Maui -- March 4 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Maui Highway District Office (HWYS) at 650 Palapala Drive in Kahului.

Big Island -- March 5 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Hilo International Airport Training Room, second floor.

Oahu -- March 7 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Aliiaimoku Hale at 869 Punchbowl Street, fifth floor, in Honolulu.

A copy of the proposed rules may be requested by calling 587-2210. A copy will be mailed at no cost to the requester. Copies can also be obtained at http://hawaii.gov/dot/notices or at the Governor's Liason Offices in Kailua-Kona, Hilo, Wailuku, Lihue, Kaunakakai and Lanai City from Monday through Friday between 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Interested persons are invited to present their views on the proposed rule changes at the hearings. Written comments will be accepted until March 7 at:
