Ukulele greats at Big Island fest tomorrow

Award-winning Island musicians, each specializing in 'ukulele, will perform at the eighth annual Great Waikoloa 'Ukulele Festival from 2 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at Queens' MarketPlace and Kings' Shops at Waikoloa, on the Big Island.

The acts are:

• Ohta-san, with guitarist Nando Suan. Ohta, right, is a 2006 Na Hoku Hanohano lifetime-achievement winner.

• Holunape, the 2006 Na Hoku group-of-the-year winner.

• Raiatea Helm, a multi-Na Hoku winner and a two-time Grammy Award nominee.

• Roy Sakuma, Hawai'i's foremost 'ukulele teacher.

A related 'ukulele workshop, conducted by Roy and Kathy Sakuma, will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Naupaka Ballroom of the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. All ages and levels of proficiency may participate.
