Signal work set for busy Maui road

Advertiser Staff

KAHULUI, Maui -- Traffic at the busy intersection at Hana Highway and Dairy Road will be affected Monday night by crews working on traffic signals, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The signals will not be operational from 8 p.m. Monday to 1 a.m. Tuesday, and single lanes of traffic will be closed during that period. Police officers will be directing traffic through the intersection.

The DOT is advising motorists to drive with caution through the area and allow for extra travel time.

Meanwhile, lane closures will continue on Honoapi'ilani Highway in Ma'alaea and Pi'ilani Highway in Kihei to allow for installation of fiber optic cables.
