Acclaimed San Francisco halau Na Lei Hulu I Ka Wekiu, led by kumu Patrick Makuakane, presents a new program, "Daughters of Haumea," based on the book by Lucia Taralio Jensen and Natalie Mahina Jensen. It's an exploration of the roles — warriors, oracles, rulers, priestesses and goddesses — of women in ancient Hawai'i. The authors give talks in theater lobby at 6 p.m. each night.

Ska band Go Jimmy Go is heading for a tour of Europe for the second year in a row, this time to spots in Spain, Germany, Denmark and Belgium. They're calling it the Hawaiian Punch Europe Tour — and they're headlining (last summer they accompanied The Toasters). But before they go, there's a big sendoff party featuring the guys of Jimmy and their pals The Spacifics and DJ Big Barr.

Ty Burhoe on tabla (drums) and Shubhendra Rao on sitar offer a concert of classical Indian music. Burhoe is a protege of tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain; Rao, a protege of Pandit Ravi Shankar.

The Kunia Orchid Society presents "A New Beginning," the group's first show in a new home, the Leilehua High School Gymnasium (it was formerly at the Kunia Gymnasium) and the 54th show in its history. Chamber Music Hawaii celebrates its 25th anniversary with a concert that includes its three ensembles — the Spring Wind Quintet, the Galliard String Quartet and the Honolulu Brass — and acclaimed pianist Jon Kimura Parker. This will be the chamber groups' debut at the Hawai'i Theatre.

Once again thousands of yellow thingies will invade the Ala Wai Canal in a benefit for the United Cerebral Palsy Association. The first 50 ducks — adopted for $5 each — win prizes for their sponsors in this 21st Great Hawaiian Rubber Duckie Race for the nonprofit agency. The ducks hit the water at 1:21 p.m. from the Kalakaua Avenue Bridge; McCully Shopping Center once again hosts pre-race activities — entertainment, food, games and even duck store — from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
