No major fireworks-related blazes overnight

Advertiser Staff

Firefighters doused a slew of small fireworks-related blazes overnight, but no major fires were reported.

Intermittent heavy showers over the last two days helped firefighters, who responded to plenty of blazes in Dumpsters and rubbish bins, but no major brush or structure fires.

The Neighbor Islands also saw no major fireworks problems.

Blustery winds overnight also helped move fireworks smoke out of neighborhoods quickly. The winds, from 15 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph, will stick around through tonight.
