Beretania street closures resume tonight

Advertiser Staff

Work on the Beretania Street Rehabilitation Project resumes tonight, the State Department of Transportation announced.

Roadwork will begin at 8 p.m. and continue until 5 a.m. Reconstruction and resurfacing work from Alapai to Lauhala on Beretania Street will require various lane closures through Jan. 11.

Beginning Friday through Tuesday there will be 24-hour lane closures for the three mauka lanes from Alapai to Lauhala.

Motorists are strongly advised to avoid those areas during this time.

This rehabilitation project includes Beretania Street, from North King Street to Alapai Street, and involves reconstructing sidewalks and roadways; cold planing; resurfacing; concrete bus pads; installing curb ramps; adjusting utility boxes and manholes; replacing signs and reflector markings; improving the drainage system; and installing pavement markings.
