Honolulu officer accused of firing shots into air

A 37-year-old Honolulu police officer arrested on suspicion of firing over three dozen shots into the air early New Year's Day while off duty has been released pending further investigation.

Roosevelt A. Blanco was arrested on suspicion of first-degree reckless endangering at 12:50 a.m. at a Waipahu Street residence. Blanco was booked on the felony offense and released yesterday.

Blanco allegedly fired shots from two pistols, including his service and off-duty weapons, and a semi-automatic rifle.
