Maili robbery suspect arrested at OCCC

Police today arrested a man being held at O'ahu Community Correctional Center on suspicion that he was one of four men involved in a home-invasion robbery in Ma'ili on Nov. 27.

The man, 29, is at OCCC for offenses unrelated to the robbery. He was arrested for first-degree robbery at 9 a.m. after being identified by the victim and witnesses.

The arrests of three other male suspects, ages 30, 25 and 24, are pending.

The suspect arrested today has six prior convictions, including four for first-degree burglary and one for auto theft.

Four men carrying guns and wearing clothing marked "DEA" forced their way into a home on Kula'aupuni Street at 1:45 a.m. on Nov. 27 and allegedly robbed six people.

The men allegedly assaulted one person and fled with a safe containing cash and jewelry belonging to a woman, 27.
