McCully bank robbery suspect arrested in Chinatown

Charges are pending against a 39-year-old McCully man arrested last night in Chinatown on suspicion of robbing American Security Bank's McCully branch earlier in the day.

The man was injured while trying to flee from police, who arrested him fronting 1128 Nu'uanu Ave. at 10:47 p.m. for first-degree robbery. He was at The Queen's Medical Center until this afternoon when police took him to the main station cellblock upon his release from the hospital.

The suspect's 11 prior criminal convictions include first-degree burglary, kidnapping, second-degree robbery and second-degree forgery.
