Police are seeking assistance in locating a bank robbery suspect who struck twice yesterday within a 73-minute period.

The man passed a demand note to a teller at Hawaii National Bank, 1505 Dillingham Blvd. in Kalihi, but fled empty-handed when the woman teller "froze" and failed to comply, police said.

The robbery was reported at 2:22 p.m.

At 3:35 p.m., the same suspect entered American Savings Bank, 94-060 Farrington Highway in Waipahu, and presented a demand note and received an undisclosed amount of cash.

A witness told police the man fled in a white compact four-door sedan driven by an unknown accomplice.

The suspect is possibly Filipino, in his 20s, 5 feet 6, and 160 pounds. He was wearing a khaki jacket, blue jeans, blue tennis shoes and sunglasses.
