New hours set for small business outreach centers

Advertiser Staff

The U.S. Small Business Administration has announced new hours of operation for Disaster Loan Outreach Centers on O'ahu and Maui to meet the needs of businesses and residents affected by the storms and flooding last December.

Low-interest federal disaster loans are available to homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes, and nonprofit organizations that suffered damage or were destroyed by the storms, said Andrew Poepoe, SBA Hawai'i district director. Loans of up to $200,000 are available to homeowners to repair or replace their primary residence, while loans up to $40,000 are available to repair or replace personal property.

Businesses and nonprofits may borrow up to $1.5 million to repair or replace real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory and other business assets. Funds also are available to help with the cost of making improvements that protect, prevent or minimize weather-related damage.

The outreach centers will be open from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturdays through Jan. 18.

The O'ahu locations are at the Ward Plaza, 210 Ward Ave., Suite 117, and the Enchanted Lake Shopping Center, 1020 Keolu Drive, Suite C-7A. On Maui, the center is at 89 Ho'okele St., Suite 104, in Kahului.
