CFB: Niumatalolo hires Johns as Navy inside LB coach

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Navy says Steve Johns will coach inside linebackers, rejoining head coach Ken Niumatalolo with whom he spent six years at UNLV.Johns spent the past two seasons at Grossmont Junior College in El Cajon, Calif., as defensive coordinator. In 2005, Johns was the defensive coordinator at the University of La Verne in La Verne, Calif., and from 1999 to 2004, he was at UNLV, where he coached linebackers and special teams.
Niumatalolo was named head coach last month, replacing Paul Johnson who left for Georgia Tech after six successful seasons.
