Firefighters check on arcing wires in Whitmore Village

Firefighters from the Wahiawa Station have been sent to check on a report of arcing wires near 1045 Aheahe Ave. in Whitmore Village.The crew was sent out on the call about 2 a.m.
One man was killed and another seriously injured last month in Whitmore when high voltage electrical wires fell on a van in which one of the men was sleeping causing it to ignite.
A man who was sleeping in the van died of burns while the second man, who tried to rescue the first man, received a severe electrical shock.
