Surf of 4 to 6 feet likely along northern shores today

Advertiser Staff

Surf along north-facing shores is on the way down and is expected to decline to heights of 4 to 6 feet today, according to the National Weather Service.

Elsewhere, look for surf 2 to 4 feet through along west-facing shores; 4 to 6 feet along east-facing shores; and 1 to 2 feet along south-facing shores.

The current northerly swell will slowly lower through Sunday. A new west northwest swell is expected to arrive today, peak tonight, then linger through Tuesday.

A larger northwest swell is expected to arrive on Tuesday, peak early Wednesday, then slowly lower into Thursday.

Another northwest swell is expected to arrive Wednesday night, and build into Thursday likely reaching advisory levels. Short period trade wind produced surf will continue through the weekend along east-facing shores, before subsiding early next week. South-facing shores will remain tiny to near flat through Thursday.
