Small northwest swell hanging around

Advertiser Staff

A small northwest swell will linger through tomorrow, the National Weather Service said, with a slightly larger northwest swell arriving Tuesday that willbring below advisory level surf.

Today, surf along north-facing shores will be 3 to 5 feet, surf along west-facing shores will be 1 to 3 feet, surf along east-facing shores will be 3 to 5 feet and surf along south-facing shores will be 1 to 2 feet.

A larger northwest swell, likely reaching advisory levels, is expected to arrive by late Wednesday, peak early Thursday, then slowly lower through Friday. Small short period easterly swells produced by the trade winds, are expected to linger through the week. South-facing shores will only see tiny background swells through the week.
