Service for Hawaii playwright will be Jan. 13

A service for playwright Lisa Yooko Matsumoto will be held Jan. 13 at First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu at Ko'olau.

Visitation is from 3-4 p.m. with a celebration of life at 4 p.m. The church, at Ko'olau Golf Course, is at 45-550 Kionaole Road.

Matsumoto, 43, died Dec. 14 at The Queen's Medical Center from injuries suffered in an early-morning motor vehicle collision on the H-1 Freeway, 432 feet east of the Kalihi Street overpass.

Matsumoto was co-founder of 'Ohi'a Productions.

She is survived by parents, Yukimasa and Jennifer Matsumoto; sisters, Lori Nasu and Leigh Sturgeon; companion, Howard Furukawa, and two nephews.

No flowers, aloha attire. Arrangements by Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary.
