Hawaii index rises for first time in 7 sessions

The Bloomberg-Honolulu Advertiser Hawai'i Index rose for the first time in seven trading sessions, as eight issues rose.The 11-member stock index climbed 0.59 points points to 89.27, gainers were led by Maui Land & Pineapple. The shares of three companies fell.
Maui Land's shares rose $1.22, or 4.6 percent, to $27.66. Bank of Hawaii rose 1.3 percent to $48.26.
Among decliners, Hoku fell 4 percent to $12.09.
