Superferry taking National Guard's equipment to Maui

Advertiser Staff

The Hawaii National Guard is using the Superferry today to transport an estimated 27 pieces of heavy engineer equipment to Maui to help with the debris cleanup from last month's major storm.

Bobcats mini-loaders, a bulldozer, dump trucks and mini-excavators are among the equipment traveling to Maui today. Tomorrow, several O'ahu-based National Guard personnel will join 49 Maui guardsmen in removing debris.

The off-loading of the equipment at Kahului Harbor, Pier 2, is at 10:15 a.m.
