Hawaii index tumbles, led by bank stocks

The Bloomberg-Honolulu Advertiser Hawai'i Index declined as local bank stocks slid lower. Bank of Hawaii fell to a 19-month low, while Central Pacific Financial continued its slide, ending the session at its lowest in six years.The 11-member stock index dropped 3.19 points to 86.08, as nine issues fell, one rose and another remained unchanged.
Decliners were led by Bank of Hawaii, which was off $2.52 to $45.72, or 5.2 percent lower.
Central Pacific Financial declined 10 percent, or $1.70, to $15.00.
The lone gainer was Hawaiian Holdings, which was up 22 cents to $4.92.
