Coast Guard takes injured seaman to Kauai

The Coast Guard today evacuated an injured 60-year-old man from a foreign-flagged fishing vessel 100 miles north of Kaua'i.The man, an engineer, suffered head, neck and shoulder injuries in a fall, according to Coast Guard spokesperson Angela Henderson. A helicopter from Air Station Barbers Point brought the man to Lihu'e Airport, and emergency medical services personnel took him to Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
