Auditions set for Manoa Valley Theatre romantic revue

Manoa Valley Theatre will hold auditions for the romantic musical, "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change,"

at 7 p.m. Monday at Bakken Auditorium on the Mid-Pacific Institute campus, at 2445 Ka'ala Ave.

The show celebrates the mating game through a journey of dating through marriage and taps the contemporary conundrum known as "the relationship."

Linda Johnson will be guest director and choreographer and Christopher Richard Lowe is guest musical director.

Two males and two females are sought to portray about 15 different characters in combinations of boyfriend-girlfriend, husband-wife, father-mother in ages ranging from 28 to 65.

The vocal range of both male parts is baritone-tenor (to F#); one female role requires an alto, the other a soprano. Musical styles range from country to jazz to pop.

Auditioners should prepare a Broadway selection in his/her range, supplying sheet music in the proper key. An accompanist will be provided.

Rehearsals will begin Jan. 16, with a March 5 through April 13 production run of 30 performances.

Scripts are available for perusal on premises at the Manoa Valley Theatre business office, 2833 East Manoa Road, between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m,. weekdays.
