The City Council Zoning Committee yesterday approved a proposed expansion of Mililani Memorial Park and Mortuary.

The proposal now goes to the full council for review Jan. 23.

Mililani Group Inc. and Castle & Cooke Homes Hawaii Inc. want to expand Mililani Memorial by about seven acres, according to the council resolution.

The land is currently vacant and zoned as general preservation land, which allows cemeteries and columbaria.
