Lanes shut for concrete repairs on H-1 airport viaduct

Advertiser Staff

The state Department of Transportation on Sunday will close the three right-most lanes of the H-1 Freeway Airport Viaduct in the west-bound direction from the airport on-ramp to the Kamehameha Highway/Aloha Stadium/Arizona Memorial off-ramp.

The lanes will be closed from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. for concrete pavement repair work. All on- and off-ramps will remain open.

The speed limit near the repair area will be reduced to 15 mph to minimize vibrations while fast-forming concrete — used to fill potholes — cures.

The roadwork is part of a $9.1 million project to repair potholes along a nearly three-mile stretch of the H-1 Freeway Airport Viaduct between Middle and Valkenburgh streets.
