Honolulu's Lam wins futures match

Chris Lam swept through his second-round match at the $10,000 Westgate Printing Futures today at Wesley Chapel, Fla. Lam, from Honolulu, beat Canadian Milan Pokrajac, 6-3, 7-5.He will face American Gregory Ouellette in a quarterfinal tomorrow.
Lam took an early 3-1 lead against Pokrajac and never had his serve broken in the first set. Pokrajac broke him immediately in the second set, taking a 3-0 advantage. Down 3-5, Lam broke serve, pulled even and broke Pokrajac again.
Lam fought off three break points in the final game and won the match with a backhand winner after a big serve.
