Hawaii's $771 average weekly wage ranks 27th in U.S.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics today said the average weekly wage in Hawai'i in the first quarter of 2007 was $771, which was $114 below the national average. Hawai'i wages ranked 27th among the 50 states and the District of Columbia.The average weekly wage in Honolulu County increased 3.9 percent from the first quarter of 2006 to the first quarter of 2007, and ranked 169th in terms of wage growth and 176th in terms of wage level among the 328 largest counties nationwide with 75,000 or more jobs.
