Advertiser Staff

The Kona International Airport's master planning team will host its third public meeting today to gather input on the future of West Hawai'i's airport.

The meeting will recap the status of the master planning and noise compatibility process and present proposals to meet the demands on the airport. Passenger volume at the airport is projected to grow to more than 4.5 million passengers per year by 2030.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. in the Kealakehe Intermediate School cafeteria, and will include breakout sessions and a question-and-answer period.

The Airport Master Plan Update and Part 150 Noise Compatibility Study is expected to be completed in the summer of 2008. For more information, visit www.kona-airport.com.
