Contract for $106.7 mln Tahiti-Hawaii cable set

Alcatel-Lucent said it had signed a turnkey contract with Office des Postes & Telecommunications, a French Polynesia telecommunications provider, for a $106.7 million high-speed submarine cable network linking Tahiti and Hawai'i.The new network will increase French Polynesia's local and international connectivity and is scheduled to be completed in 2010.
