Trade winds likely to pick up again on Saturday

A weak cold front will move across the island chain Sunday bringing cooler temperatures, gusty northwest winds and briefly increasing showers, according to the National Weather Service.

A high-pressure area to the north of the state will follow the front, but winds will weaken by midweek as the high moves off to the northeast, forecasters said.

Here's a look at what to expect during the next few days:

Today: Isolated showers after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 79. South wind between 3 and 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 63. East wind around 6 mph.

Saturday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 77. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Saturday night: Scattered showers, mainly after midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 65. North wind between 8 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Sunday: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. North wind around 18 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
