Wahiawa library to get air-conditioning upgrade

Advertiser Staff

Gov. Linda Lingle has released $180,000 to replace the chiller plant at Wahiawa Public Library. The current chiller plant is more than 18 years old and has reached the end of its serviceable life, causing frequent air-conditioning outages at the library.

"This project will provide patrons and staff of Wahiawa Public Library with a cool and comfortable environment," Lingle said in a released statement. "By controlling the temperature inside the library, it will also help to preserve the library's books and other resource materials," Lingle said.

Design is scheduled to be completed in May 2008. Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2008 and be completed in April 2009.
