North Shore surf to drop, then bounce back big tomorrow

Advertiser Staff

Wave faces along north-facing shores will be 8 to 12 feet through this morning, decreasing to 6 to 10 feet during the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Surf along west-facing shores will be 5 to 7 feet through this morning, decreasing to 3 to 5 feet this afternoon, forecasters said.

Surf along east-facing shores will be 1 to 3 feet while surf along south-facing shores will be 1 to 3 feet with occasional 4-foot sets.

Another large northwest swell due to arrive here tomorrow will again produce high surf warnings on north and west shores, where the warning threshold surf size is 25 and 20 feet, respectively.

As this swell decreases, the direction will shift out of the north, which may require an advisory for east-facing shores where the advisory threshold is 8-foot surf.

A smaller northwest swell, below advisory level, is expected Wednesday and Thursday, while a new south swell with below advisory level surf is expected to show up ater today.
