Trade winds likely to turn gusty by tomorrow

Light southeasterly winds will be replaced by gusty northerlies as a front passes over the Islands tomorrow, the National Weather Service said.

Rainfall associated with the front will be rather light overall, although a few stronger showers are a possibility, forecasters said.

Trade winds should make a return by Wednesday and will likely bring heavier rain to windward slopes.

Here's a more detailed look at the next few days:

Today: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 77. East wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 65. Northeast wind around 10 mph.

Sunday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 77. North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65. North wind around 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 77. Northeast wind around 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65. East wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.
