Big Island fire destroys single-family home

Fire destroyed a two-story home on the Big Island yesterday, causing an estimated $110,000 in damage.Firefighters on the Big Island responded to the call of a structure fire just after 4 p.m. on Saturday on Pukalani Drive in the Ainaloa Subdivision.
The first engine from the Pahoa district was on the scene within 13 minutes and had the fire under control with five minutes, the fire department said.
The fire was out at 7:15 p.m.
Cause of the blaze is under investigation.
