Bone marrow registery at Hawaii Kai Towne Center

Advertiser Staff

The Hawaii Bone Marrow Donor Registry will appear at the Hawaii Kai Towne Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today to educate the public about bone marrow donation, and hold a general drive to register individuals who are interested in donating.

They will be located next to the Bloodmobile in the parking lot near Costco.

Registration is free and painless; a quick swipe of a cotton swab inside the cheek is all that's necessary to screen individuals for the registry.

Those interested in registering should be in good health, between the ages of 18 and 60.

There is a special need for those with Asian, Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, or mixed heritage ancestry. For more information, contact the Hawaii Bone Marrow Donor Registry at 547-6973.
