CFB: Virginia Tech CB Victor Harris to enter NFL draft

Associated Press

BLACKSBURG, Va. — Virginia Tech cornerback Victor "Macho" Harris will forgo his senior season and enter the NFL draft.

Harris is the second Hokies cornerback to leave school early for the April draft. Brandon Flowers, a second-team All-American, announced his intention to turn pro earlier this month.

The 6-foot, 203-pound Harris had five interceptions, 36 tackles and 11 pass breakups this season, helping No. 9 Virginia Tech (11-3) to an Atlantic Coast Conference championship. He was selected to the all-conference first team.

Virginia Tech released a statement Saturday night saying Harris had told the coaching staff he would enter the NFL draft.

Hokies quarterback Sean Glennon also submitted paperwork to the NFL, but told the school he will return next season. Glennon threw for 1,796 yards and 12 touchdowns this season.
