Firm raises $11M for plan to use seawater for cooling

A company seeking to air condition downtown buildings with seawater today said it raised $10.75 million to finance the project.Honolulu Seawater Air Conditioning expects to start construction on the system in January 2009.
The total cost of the project is estimated at $152 million. Financing for the project is to come from $100 million in state tax-exempt revenue bonds and conventional borrowing.
