2008 Living Treasures chosen by Honpa Hongwanji

The 2008 Living Treasures of Hawaii have been chosen: Edwin Mahiai Beamer, Dr. Charles P.K.M. Burrows, Rev. Sam Cox, Benjamin Kodama, and Elsie T. Tanaka.They will be honored at the 33rd annual banquet on Feb. 8 at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel, beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail hour, aa 6:15 p.m. dinner, and 7:30 p.m. Living Treasures Program. The program, which began 32 years ago by the Honpa Hongwanji Mission, recognizes outstanding individuals for their contribution in the preservation and perpetuation of the islands' distinctive cultural and artistic heritage
