Hawaii index dips on market's recession worries

The Bloomberg-Honolulu Advertiser Hawai'i Index fell for a third consecutive session as markets fell on recession worries.

The 11-member stock index dropped 1.50 points to 83.81, as seven issues declined.

Decliners were led by Alexander & Baldwin Inc., which was off $1.43 to $43.83.

Hawai'i's two bank stocks, Bank of Hawaii, and Central Pacific Financial, also were among leading decliners. Bank of Hawaii was off 89 cents to $44.63, while Central Pacific declined 48 cents to $14.41.
