Kahuku girls edge Leilehua

Amber Abregano, Elizabeth Blake and Brianne Huddy scored goals to lead Kahuku past Leilehua, 3-2, in the first round of the O'ahu Interscholastic Association Girls' Red Division soccer tournament yesterday at Kapolei.

Kahuku, the East's fourth seed, travels to West No. 1 Pearl City for a 7 p.m. quarterfinal matchup today.

The game will be preceded by a 5:15 p.m. game between East runner-up Kaiser and West No. 3 Kapolei. The Hurricanes got goals from Ashlee Dela Cruz and Chelsie Swann in a 2-1 win over Kailua last night.

At Mililani today, 'Aiea takes on East top-seed Kalani at 5:15 p.m. Na Ali'i defeated Castle, 2-1, following two overtime periods and penalty kicks yesterday.

West runner-up Mililani hosts Moanalua at 7 p.m. today in the other quarterfinal. Na Menehune beat Wai'anae, 1-0, yesterday after Tiana Fujimoto scored the lone goal in double-overtime.
